Entering is Simple...
 
...so simple that if we gave our Scarecrow access to the internet even he could do it (although last time we let him use the web we ended up with a lorry load of new straw!)
 
 
We are looking for photographs that reflect the diversity of the landscape, buildings and iconic attractions that can be seen or are located along the Ntional Express East Coast Main Line (Edinburgh to York).  The judges are looking for creativity, imagination or movement that compliments the book "A Window View of Your Train Journey". 
 
With over 50 images required for the book we are looking for a diverse range of styles and techniques. 
 The competition is designed to be lighthearted and fun so get creative!
 
 
Firstly you need to pay the entrance fee (it's for a good cause!) which will guarantee you a copy of the book when published.

Professionals £20
 
Don't forget, for your entry fee you get to submit up to 5 images and...
 
...we'll post you a copy of the book when published!
 

 Enter by email

 

  • In accordence with the rules images should be sent in the jpeg format.
  • Each image should be no larger than 2MB and about 1500px at it's longest side.  Don't worry if you don't know what this jargon means, just send us your photo as it is and we'll sort it!
  • Images should be sent as an attachement by email to scarecrowphoto@hotmail.co.uk
  • The subject of the email is...you guessed it: "Scarecrow Photo Competition"
  • The email must contain your paypal receipt number as proof of payment.  It's for charity!
  • The email must contain your name, postal address, contact telephone number (both daytime and evening) and where the photo was taken.
  • You will receive a confirmation email when your entry is received.
 
 Enter by post
 
  • In accordence with the rules prints should be about 9x6".   Ole 'crows eyes aren't what they used to be!  
  • Each photograph must be marked on the back with name, address, contact telephone number and where the photo was taken.
  • Your paypal receipt number must be included on the back of each photograph as proof of payment. 
  • Entries should then be placed in a suitable envelope and posted to "Scarecrow Competition", 184 York Crescent, Durham, England DH1 5QS

    If you want to scan a print or negative then make sure it's free of dust and scratches before heading over to the left and following the email guidelines...
